Gardening for Pleasure
Photo Credit: Ian Knox, The Lost Gardens of Heligan Last month I was lucky enough to attend a talk by Bob Flowerdew, arguably one of the true pioneers of organic gardening. Prize Worthy Blooms
Class 2: Five Daffodil Stems - First Prize to Billie Anderson Thank goodness for spring flowers! They bring cheer to everyone's day and a promise of warmer, sunny days with more time spent outdoors celebrating the beauty of nature. Over the past week we have been the lucky recipients of many photos for our Virtual Spring Show. These photos have showed the splendour, bounty and diverse array of spring flowers in our exhibitors' gardens, pots and borders. Thank you for sharing!

On a rare sunny day in February, DHHS members trekked down to the Old Vicarage in Washington, West Sussex to explore Lady Walters’ beautiful garden. Looking at gardens in the winter and early spring not only means gorgeous spring blossoms but it always gives one a chance to see the structure or backbone of a garden. Evergreen trees and shrubs combined with deciduous hedges can provide a real focal point all year round. The Japanese garden, woodland area and select borders had

Christmas Season and NY Plans
Sandhill Farm, Winter Border. Photo credit: S Sticpewich Hard to imagine that Christmas is fast approaching but the onset of colder temperatures, overnight frosts and sunsets by 4pm certainly mark its impending arrival. In early December the Society will be celebrating in style with our annual Christmas party at The Winn Hall. The final event of our Centenary year! While we may not have a significant milestone next year, we have been busy planning a full calendar of activitie
