Best in Show was awarded to Sue Sim for this gorgeous mini floral arrangement

Despite the dry spring and subsequent torrential downpours, the Dunsfold and Hascombe gardeners rallied and the hall was filled with the scent of sweet peas, roses and lilies on the day of the Flower Show.  Thirty-five exhibitors with 209 entries all battled for first place with our independent judge marveling at the quality of the exhibits.  Sue Sim triumphantly winning Best in Show for her stunning miniature floral arrangement.

After all the excitement of the morning the doors of the hall opened in the afternoon to welcome the many visitors to enjoy the homemade cakes and teas and to admire the flowers, vegetables, homecrafts and photography, all grown (or made) by their neighbours and friends.

All in all, a splendid day for this village tradition which has been taking place for 101 years.  The Show is carried out in a spirit of friendly competition with new first-time exhibitors trying their luck each year.  Unless you enter you will never know whether you may be harbouring the next Best in Show in your garden!
